Black currant plants of cvs. Black Smith and Karlštejnský dlouhohrozen showing symptoms of severe form of black currant reversion disease were found in the Czech Republic. The plants were positively tested by PCR for presence of the Blackcurrant reversion associated virus. Moreover, in two of black currant plants, rhabdovirus-like particles measured 200-347nm by 64-90 nm were found within nuclei of parenchyma cells of vascular bundles.
