Aging process of a given locality seems to be very important, as it determines of its biotic and abiotic factors, for example presence of first intermediate and definite hosts, characters of the littoral zone, flood duration, slope of the bank or water velocity. Intensity of infection increased from temporarily formed small puddles, through bachwaters originated in the end of last century and tens of years old aluvial channels of inner Morava and Dyje delta, to old marshes. Gradual aggradation of these marshes terminates cycles of water localities in an aluvium. At the same time, as shown by comparison of a river in urban and rural area with restored and natural channels, both biotic and abiotic factors are being influenced by human activities, and therefore the life cycle of the Posthodiplostomum cuticola is being disturbed and the parasitation decreases.
