Der Vergleich des Traktats De ecclesia des Johannes Hus mit dem gleichnamigen Traktat des Osforder Magisters Johannes Wyclif zeigt, dass Hus, obwohl er sehr viel von dem Werk seines englischen Vorgängers zitierte, doch nicht ohne weiteres alle radikalen Konsequenzen der Kirchenlehre dieses Theologen übernommen hat. Im Prozess gegen Hus in Konstanz wurde diese Tatsache jedoch nicht berücksichtigt und Hus wurde als Schüler des Erzketzers Wyclif verurteilt.

A comparison between the tratise De ecclesia of Jan Hus and the treatise of the same name of the Oxford Master John Wyclif shows that despite many of large Hus's quotations from the work of his English predecessor, Hus did not accept without modification all radical consequences of his concept of the Church. This fact was not respected in the Hus' trial in Constance and Hus was sentenced as a pupil of the "arch-heretic" Wyclif.
