Cutting down of Robinia pseudoacacia followed by appropriate management, such as cutting of sprouts, leads to a gradual return of the original dry grassland vegetation. However, this return is prolonged. Although the representation of dry grassland plant species increased fourfold during the succession, forty years after R. pseudoacacia cutting, it was still only 30%. The proportion of synanthropic species also remained relatively high, although the nitrophilia of the vegetation decreased. This was probably due to the long-term persistence of R. pseudoacacia suckers and seedlings in grasslands. To completely eliminate R. pseudoacacia in dry grassland habitats, it would be probably necessary to use more chemical treatments for felled trees. These conclusions should be considered in further planning R. pseudoacacia reduction in the nature reserves.
