Suitable combinations of common organic solvents and electric field strength of hundreds of V/cm are sufficient to obtain layers of a known mass (area density up to 1 mg/cm2), which are uniform and mechanically resistant to water. Electric current often exhibits a significant peak corresponding to the beneficial expulsion of ionic impurities from the deposited layer. Thus, the deposited nanopowder may be purer than the original one. Workplace J.
