    AnotaceThis 651-page book presents and describes plant invasions in protected areas, patterns, problems and challenges, invading nature springer series in invasion ecology, volume 7. The book is organized into 4 major parts, which are further divided into 28 individually authored chapters. The first part deals with setting the scene: impacts, processes and opportunities, in which it deals with the bottom line: impacts of alien plant invasions in protected areas and global efforts to address the wicked problem of invasive alien species. The second part deals with regional patterns: mapping the threats from plant invasions in protected areas, in which it deals with invasive plant species in indian protected areas: conserving biodiversity in cultural landscapes and a pragmatic approach to the management of plant invasions in Galapagos. The third part deals with managing invasions in protected areas: from prevention to restoration. The fourth part deals with invasive alien plants in protected areas: threats, opportunities, and the way forward. The book highlights a list of contributors and their respective institutions. Each chapter contains a list of references. The text is written in English and indexed by subject with figures. Users of this book will include ecologists, conservation biologists, and biologists.
