Pod vlivem pohnutých událostí a v nových životních podmínkách sepsal stručné dějiny církve v Čechách s názvem „Idea mutationum”(publik. 1624). Překlad anotace After the defeat of the Bohemian Estates uprising at the beginning of the Thirty Years’ War, the Protestant clergyman and poet Jacobus Jacobaeus (1591-1645) was forced (like many other non-Catholics) to leave Bohemian Lands and go into exile. Under the influence of turbulent events and in new living conditions, he wrote a brief history of the church in Bohemia entitled “Idea mutationum” (published 1624). In this writing, he understands history as a constant change (similar to the weather) and applies the concept of “mutatio” as the principle structuring his historical narration. This study discusses whether the far-reaching social “crisis”, he experienced, could have triggered his interest in history and influenced how he thought about the past. The main focus is on the role of experience in interpreting and conceptualizing history.
