Překlad anotace In 1955, the British engineer J. D. Lawson derived a criterion describing the conditions under which nuclear fusion can become a source of useful energy. The criterion represents a simplified energy balance of a fusion reactor plant, focusing on the specific features of fusion plants, which are the need for energy-intensive fuel heating and recirculation of heating power. Based on the concept of the original criterion, two additional criterion equations describing the energy balance of the fusion fuel itself, i.e. without the influence of the plant technology, were defined over the following years, referred to as the scientific balancing criterion and the ignition criterion. The original criterion equation applied to the whole fusion plant is referred to as the engineering balancing criterion. The Lawson criterion allows the energy potential of different fusion reactions to be evaluated. The evaluation is performed for the fusion reactions of deuterium and tritium (DT), deuterium (DD), deuterium and helium 3He (DHe3) and hydrogen and boron (pB). The results show why the DT reaction is currently the only energetically feasible fusion reaction. The other reactions require reactors that are more advanced than we can yet build compared to the DT reaction. Moreover, the use of the pB reaction is conditional on very high efficiency of the plant equipment.
