AnotaceThe number of worn tires after their service life is constantly increasing every year. It is given by continuous development of industry together with growing population, thus, vehicular transportation become integral part of everyday life. Although the majority of disposed tires have been recycled/reused in rubber industry or utilized for alternative purposes, e.g. for energy source for specific industrial applications, considerable quantities of this relatively high valuable commodity are still stockpiled. As a consequence of its accumulation, serious environmental threats may appear. Different techniques of waste tires processing are known. Traditional techniques include, e.g. shredding, grinding, etc. and the usage of e.g. jet mills or ozone reactors belongs to modern high-tech processes. All of them represent methods with various complexity of construction and efficiency. So, different final products with properties that have a direct impact on their utility value and further applications may be prepared. This paper aims to overview and comparison of rubber particulate materials properties according to the applied technology for their production. Special focus is dedicated to described obtained particle size distributions and grains morphologies – properties that have been identified to be crucial for industrial applications of waste tires derived products.
