To break the aggregates it is necessary to introduce high level of shearing, to modify the particle size distribution or the physical-chemical environment to suppress inter-particle attractive forces between the particles. If the aggregates are destroyed, water originally fixed in the aggregates is liberated and the considerable decrease of the pressure drops can be reached. To prove this process kaolin and ash slurries were tested on the experimental loop. It was demonstrated that shearing, addition of chemical agent or coarse particles could result in significant decrease of the apparen viscosity, yield stress and consequently pressure drops.
