Autoři kolektivní monografie ve svém vlastním badatelském výzkumu prezentují témata, která leží v centru zájmu profesora Miloše Havelky, významného českého sociologa, filosofa a doyena historické sociologie v České republice. Původní kapitoly 25 domácích i zahraničních historiků, sociologů, filosofů, antropologů a umělců přispívají inovativním způsobem k diskusi o současných badatelských problémech, jakými jsou symbolická centra české kultury a politiky, spory o smysl českých dějin, reflexe krize demokracie, politiky paměti a metodologie historické vědy.

The authors of the collective monograph presents in their own research work the themes, which are at the centre of the interest of Professor Miloš Havelka, an important Czech sociologist, philosopher and the doyen of the field of historical sociology in the Czech Republic. The original chapters of 25 domestic and foreign historians, sociologists and philosophers, anthropologists and artists contribute in an innovative way to discussion of current research issues, such as the symbolic centres of Czech culture and politics, the controversy over the meaning of Czech history, the reflection of the crisis of democracy, the politics of memory or the methodology of historiography.
