Die Analyse des Textes zeigt, dass Sokrates seine Gesprächspartner “Freunde” nennt, obwohl sie nicht in der Lage sind, seine eigene philosophische Lehre mit ihm zu teilen. Der Autor wirft die Frage auf, ob Platon diese dramatis Personae als Freunde im eigentlichen Sinne betrachtet. Er legt dann einen kurzen Überblick über die Konzeptualisierung der Freundschaft in der griechischen Kultur von Homer bis Platon vor. Boháček beweist auf der Grundlage einer detaillierten Untersuchung der komplexen Terminologie der Freundschaft in Phaidon und des nachfolgenden Vergleichs mit der Textaufzeichnung in der Politeia, dass die sokratische Verwendung der Begriffe hetairos und filos im intentionalen Sinn verschieden ist. Der Autor kommt daher zu dem Schluss, dass Platons Benennung von Sokrates‘ Partnern aufgrund ihrer philosophischen Relevanz differenziert ist. Die echte Freundschaft ist reserviert für vollwertige Philosophen, das heißt Anhänger von Platons eigener Philosophie. Překlad anotace The chapter The true friend in Phaedo explores the nature of the relation between Socrates and his interlocutors in the Phaedo. Textual analysis proves that Socrates calls his companions “friends” even though they lack the capacity to share with him in the highest philosophical doctrine. Thus the question arises as to whether they can really be called friends. Therefore, the author presents a brief overview of the conceptualization of friendship in Greek culture from Homer to Plato. By a close exploration of the complex terminology of friendship in the Phaedo and a comparison with the Republic, Boháček demonstrates that Socrates’ usage of words hetairos and philos is intentionally differentiated. Author concludes that Socrates can call his interlocutors “friends” only in a qualified sense. True friendship is limited to full-fledged philosophers: that is, in effect, for adherents of Plato’s own philosophical school.
