A historically-contaminated soil (HCS) and creosote-treated shavings (CTS) from the Soběslav wood preservation plant, characterized by different relative abundances of the PAH bioavailable fractions, were used to assess the contaminated matrix effect and its interaction with both carrier and fungal strain.
