Intensively coloured mica pigments based on mica flakes covered with surface oxide-hydroxide layer of different metals. such as Ti, Cr, Fe, Al, Co, Ni, Zn and Cu were prepared by homogeneous precipitation of metal sulphates with urea in the presence of mica flakes. The final colour was obtained by thermal annealing of precipitates at temperature 150-800 degreesC.
