Cílem konference pořádané Ústavem pro českou literaturu AV ČR ve spolupráci s Centrem pro studium holokaustu a židovské literatury je otevřít diskuzi o Weilově díle, podrobit ho kritické analýze, přinést nové poznatky k Weilovu působení jako spisovatele, novináře a překladatele a prozkoumat recepci jeho díla v Česku i v zahraničí.
On 27–28 April 2023, the Institute for Czech Literature of the CAS in cooperation with the Centre for the Study of the Holocaust and Jewish Literature organized a conference devoted to the life and work of the Czech writer Jiří Weil (1900–1959). During the two-day conference, 19 domestic and international scholars explored not only the work of Jiří Weil, but also other aspects of his work: Weil was not only a writer, but also a journalist, reporter, translator, scholar, and mediator between cultures, especially between Czech and Russian culture.
