Mezioborová konference se jako společný projekt tří vědeckých ústavů zaměřila na širší souvislosti vzniku a následků dětských dluhů a na možnosti i limity jejich právní regulace. Ústav státu a práva, Psychologický ústav a Sociologický ústav Akademie věd ČR se zapojily do analýzy vícevrstevné problematiky s vážnými společenskými důsledky. V devíti referátech i v následné diskusi se řešily otázky kognitivní kapacity nezletilých, jejich schopností chápat abstraktní pojmy, ovládat se a plánovat - a rovněž výuky dětí směrem k finanční gramotnosti. Problematika byla zkoumána také z pohledu potenciálního narušení sociální koheze a prevence sociálního vyloučení. Právníci přispěli poukazy na ochranu dětí před rdousícím zadlužením se zřetelem k mezinárodním smlouvám a konstitučním garancím, jakož i rozborem výhod a rizik konkrétních úprav v jednotlivých zákonech a při jejich aplikaci.

The interdisciplinary conference, as a joint project of three scientific institutes, focused on the broader context of the origin and consequences of children's debts and on the possibilities and limits of their legal regulation. The Institute of State and Law, the Institute of Psychology and the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic participated in the analysis of multi-layered issues with serious social consequences. Nine lectures and the ensuing discussion addressed the cognitive capacity of minors, their ability to understand abstract concepts, control and plan - as well as leading children towards financial literacy. The issue was also examined in terms of potential disruption of social cohesion and prevention of social exclusion. Lawyers have contributed incentives for protect children from debilitating debt with regard to international treaties and constitutional guarantees, as well as an analysis of the benefits and risks of specific amendments to individual laws and their application.
