Kromě raně novověkých historických pramenů pracovaly s popisem a historií Prahy také jiné žánry. Studie se zaměřuje na chválu (laudes) a popis (descriptio) města, napsané v latině. Analýza děl náležejících k tomuto žánru byla provedena zejména z těchto pohledů: užití antických a raně novověkých zahraničních vzorů, motivace ke vzniku díla, základní náměty a jejich užití, nejčastější motivy z české historie, použité historické prameny rozdíl mezi pohledem cizince a domácího autora, proměna žánru od konce 15. do začátku 17. století.

Besides primary Early Modern historiographical sources, the history and description of Prague are also dealt with by other genres. The article focusses on praise (laudes) and descriptions (descriptiones) of the city written in Latin. An analysis of works belonging to these genres was determined mainly by these perspectives: the use of antique and Early Modern foreign models, motivation for the creation of the work, basic themes and biases in their processing, the most frequent motifs from Czech history, historical sources that were used, the difference between the view of a foreigner and domestic author of Prague, and the transformation of the genre from the end of the 15th century to the beginning of the 17th century.
