Studie s názvem „Divadelní festival Setkání/Stretnutie ve Zlíně. Historie. Tradice. Současné trendy“ postihuje genezi zlínského nesoutěžního divadelního festivalu od roku jeho založení 1991 do současnosti, včlenění do kontextu moravských divadelních festivalů (např. Divadelní Flora v Olomouci) a porovnání s dramaturgickým zaměřením dalších česko-slovenských festivalů v ČR (např. Slovenské divadlo v Praze). V textu se zabývám také hostováním významných divadelních souborů ze zahraničí a také uměleckými osobnostmi, které jsou s festivalem spjaty. Okrajově se věnuji účasti studentů vyšších odborných uměleckých škol na festivalu a jejich zapojení do průběhu festivalu. Součástí příspěvku je také odborná kritická reflexe festivalu a její proměnlivost během jednotlivých ročníků.

The paper called “Theatre festival Setkání/Stretnutie in Zlín. History. Tradition. Current Trends” addresses the genesis of a Zlín-based non-competitive theatre festival from 1991 (when it was founded) until now. It contextualizes the festival among Moravian theatre festivals (e.g., Divadelní Flora v Olomouci) and compares it with the dramaturgical focus of other Czech festivals dealing with the relationship between Czechs and Slovaks (e.g., Slovenské divadlo v Praze). The text also investigates important guest performances by international theatre groups and artistic figures connected with the festival. Marginally, I describe the art college students’ participation and their role in the course of the festival. A part of this paper is also a professional critical reflection of the festival and its changeability throughout the years.
