Výstup ze společného projektu Centra pro práci s patristickými, středověkými a renesančními texty (CMTF UP Olomouc) a Centra biblických studií (ETF UK a AV ČR Praha). Poslední ze tří kolektivních monografií, vypracovaných za metodického vedení Prof. Lenky Karfíkové, Dr. theol., ve spolupráci s Doc. Jiřím Mrázkem, Th.D. (Milost podle Písma a starokřesťanských autorů, 2004) a Mgr. Janem A. Dusem, Th.D. (Milost v antické, židovské a křesťanské tradici, 2008, a Milost v patristice, 2011). V souhrnu celého projektu Milost se jedná o 31 příspěvků, v nichž 16 autorů sonduje uplatnění teologického konceptu „milost“ v různých myšlenkových okruzích (antika, Starý zákon, judaistika, Nový zákon, patristika). Žádný ze starověkých autorů nevypracoval nauku o milosti systematicky; proto bylo třeba nejprve rekonstruovat jejich teologický rámec, a potom analyzovat rozmanité slovní formulace, jejichž společným jmenovatelem je milosrdný příklon Boha k člověku a lidská reakce na tento dar.

This book is the last item from 3 collections of essays worked out under the guidelines of Prof. L. Karfíková, Dr. theol., cooperating with Doc. J. Mrázek, Th.D. (Grace according to Scripture and early Christian authors, 2004) and with Mgr. J. A. Dus, Th.D. (Grace in Classical, Jewish and Christian traditions, 2008, and Grace in Patristics, 2011). The Grace Project has brought up 31 contributions by 16 experts in total, mapping the Grace as a theological theme in different areas of thoughts (Classical Antiquity, Old Testament, Judaism, New Testament, Patristics). None of the authors discussed elaborated a systematic doctrine of Grace. It was therefore necessary, first, to reconstruct the framework of their thinking, and, secondly, to analyse the different language manifestations thereof with respect to the common denominator: the Grace as a merciful turning of God towards men and the reaction of men to this gift.
