Příspěvek se zabývá podobami metaforizace města v díle Jana Amose Komenského v širším kontextu dobové literatury. Prvním typem je alegorizace města-světa v Labyrintu světa a Ráji srdce, se zvláštním zřetelem ke kresbě v rukopise, druhým typem je presonifikace města, vycházející z biblického principu, podobně i chápání města jako cíle náboženské cesty do Nebeského Jeruzaléma. Posledním zmiňovaným typem Komenského tematizování je role měst v dějinách spásy, jednak jako obraz Božího záměru s vyvolenou církví, jednak jako místa důležitého pro celosvětovou náboženskou reformu.

The paper deals with the forms of metaphorization of the city in the work of Johannes Amos Comenius in the broader context of contemporary literature. The first type is the allegorization of the city-world in The Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart, with special reference to the manuscript drawing, the second type is the presonification of the city, based on a biblical principle, and similarly the understanding of the city as the destination of a religious journey to the Heavenly Jerusalem. The last type of thematization mentioned by Comenius is the role of cities in salvation history, both as an image of God’s plan for the elect Church and as a place of importance for worldwide religious reform.
