Chaurova sbírka denárů v Národním muzeu obsahuje až na některé unikátní a vzácné, především moravské exempláře ucelený přehled typů a variant českých i moravských denárů známých v polovině 20. století. Zahrnuje nejen řadu tehdy i dnes unikátních ražeb, ale také vybrané kusy, resp. přehledy variant typů zastoupených ve významných velkých a pro chronologii českých denárů zásadních mincovních nálezech konce 19. a počátku 20. století. Zastoupením jednotlivých typů, počtem a stavem jednotlivých exemplářů je tato část sbírky nepostradatelným a nenahraditelným pramenem nejen pro českou numismatiku, ale také českou historii, archeologii, ikonografii, genealogii, epigrafiku a další spřízněné obory. Jedná se o zcela výjimečnou kolekci, která nemá v českých i světových muzeích obdoby.

Except some unique and rare, especially Moravian, specimens, the Chaura’s denier asssemblage represents almost comprehensive overview of the types and variants of the Bohemian and Moravian deniers known in the middle of the 20th century. It contains not only a considerable number of both then and today unique issues, but also exquisite pieces and overviews of variants present in important hoards found at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, essential for the chronology of the Czech deniers. Representing single types and specimens unique by their number and condition, the collection is an important source not only for the Czech numismatics, but also for the Czech history, archaeology, iconography, genealogy, epigraphy, and further related disciplines. It is quite an exceptional assemblage, unparalleled in the Czech as well as world museums.
