Funkčním vzorkem je zařízení pro zjištění geometrických odchylek jednotlivých TimePix čipů detektoru rentgenového záření WidePix, složeného z 10×10 těchto čipů. Řešení sestává ze samotné kalibrační desky a jejího držáku, který se montuje na samotný detektor. Stejný princip je možné použít i u detektorů složených z jiného počtu čipů TimePix (či jiných). Funkční vzorek byl vymyšlen, vyvinut, vyroben a otestován na Ústavu teoretické a aplikované mechaniky AV ČR v rámci programu Strategie AV 21

The functional sample is a device for detecting the displacements of individual TimePix chips of the WidePix X-ray detector, composed of 10×10 of these chips. The solution consists of the calibration plate itself and its holder, which is mounted on the detector itself. The same principle can be used for detectors composed of a different number of TimePix (or other) chips. The functional sample was conceived, developed, manufactured and tested at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in frame of the Strategy AV 21 programme.
