The aim of this work is to investigate the mechanism of the simplified problem of the interaction of one vortex with one bubble. Several experiments were performed on the interaction of a 1.3 to 2.1 mm diameter bubble with a vortex ring at 5 different speeds. The distilled water – air system was studied. The vortex rings were formed by the rapid injection of liquid from a flooded nozzle, their speed being regulated by the pressure in the storage tank above the nozzle. The PIV method was used to determine the parameters of the vortex rings, the output of which was further processed in the Matlab program. Vortices were visualized by PMMA particles with a diameter of 20 μm, and the process of vortex formation was imaged using two mutually perpendicular cameras (Photron FastCam Mini AX100 and Photron FastCam SA1.1, 20,000 FPS, 13.2 μm/px).
