Téma probiotických mikroorganismů používaných k čištění vody je ve světě velmi živé a aktuální, ale v ČR je informací na toto téma neobvykle málo, i když počet článků ve vědecké literatuře má stoupající tendenci. Zajímavé také je, že ač v ČR toto téma není vědeckou komunitou aktivně řešeno, prodej probiotických přípravků v ČR pro koupací biotopy, včetně veřejných koupacích biotopů, pro požární nádrže, fontány a návesní rybníky, tvoří v jarních a letních měsících 25-30 % tržeb prodejců. Cílem tohoto článku je upozornit na tuto oblast a seznámit čtenáře se základy této problematiky, definovat vhodné oblasti použití a poukázat na limity použití probiotických přípravků ve vodním hospodářství.

The topic of probiotic microorganisms used for water purification is very lively and topical in the world, but in the Czech Republic there is unusually little information on this topic. If we look on Web of Sciences and give the key words water quality and probiotic bacteria, this database shows us 1413 publications, of which 18 is highly cited, one is hot paper and 87 review articles. The number of articles is still on an upward trend, increasing by 400 % in the last 10 years. There are hundreds of patents in this field. It is also interesting to note that although this topic is not actively addressed by the scientific community in the Czech Republic, sales of probiotic products in the Czech Republic for bathing habitats, including public bathing habitats, fire ponds, fountains, and village ponds account for 25-30 % of sales in the spring and summer months. The aim of this article is to draw attention to this area and to familiarize the reader with the basics of this issue, to define suitable areas of application and to point out the limits of the use of probiotic preparations in water management.
