Beinhaltet Kants Konzept der “Autonomie” eine Theorie der Willensfreiheit? Und wenn ja, wie versteht Kant “Willensfreiheit”? Der folgende Beitrag erörtert diese Fragen und zeigt, dass Kants Begriff der individuellen Freiheit keine Definition der Wahlfreiheit beinhaltet. Dies zeigt, dass Kants Theorie der Freiheit nicht nur mit dem (mentalen) Determinismus des Willens und Handelns vereinbar ist, sondern diesen einschließt. Kants Freiheitstheorie ist daher ein gutes Beispiel für die Position, dass sich Determinismus und Willensfreiheit sich nicht gegenseitig ausschließen müssen.

Does Kant’s concept of “autonomy” include a theory of freedom of will? And if so, how does Kant “freedom of will” understand? The following contribution discusses these questions, and it shows that Kant’s concept of individual freedom does not entail a definition of freedom of choice. This indicates that Kant’s theory of freedom is not only compatible with but includes (mental) determinism of will and action. Hence, Kant’s theory of freedom is a good example of the position that determinism and freedom of will do not have to exclude each other.
