Korespondence orientalisty Aloise Musila s historikem obecných dějin Josefem Šustou je velmi významným střípkem historické korespondence mezi vědci. Přibližuje jak vztah obou korespondentů, tak především dvě významná témata. Prvním je budování československé orientalistiky a poskytování stipendií mladým orientalistům záhy po vzniku První republiky. Další dokresluje spolupráci na Musilově edici Dnešní Orient. Šusta se stal prvním recenzentem a korespondence dokládá proměnu vědeckých zásahů tohoto díla.

The correspondence between the orientalist Alois Musil and the historian of world history Josef Šusta is a very important piece of historical correspondence between scientists. It presents both the relationship between the two correspondents and, above all, two important topics. The first is the building of Czechoslovak oriental studies and awarding scholarships to young orientalists soon after the establishment of the First Republic. The other illustrates the collaboration on Musil's edition of Today’s Orient. Šusta became the first reviewer and the correspondence illustrates the transformation of the scholarly interventions of this work.
