Die vorliegende Publikation hat das Ziel, zur Verwaltungsgeschichte aus der Zeit der NS- Besatzung der böhmischen Länder beizutragen. Neben einer historischen Einführung, die sich mit der Entwicklung der Oberlandratsämter im System der Besatzungsverwaltung des Protektorats und mit der Charakteristik der Personen an der Spitze dieser Ämter befasst, bildet den Kern der Arbeit ein Lexikon mit Biogrammen von 53 Oberlandräten, die ihre biografi schen Basis daten, Informationen zu Bildung, Beruf, ihrem politischen und sozialen Engagement, ggf. ihrem militärischen Einsatz, Gefangenschaft und Inhaftierung sowie ihrem Nachkriegsschicksal enthalten. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Publikation ist die Edition von 25 Dokumenten, die die organisatorische und personelle Entwicklung der Oberlandratsämter im Protektorat belegen und diese Institutionen der Besatzungsverwaltung in einen breiteren historischen Kontext einbetten.

The aim of this publication is to contribute to the administrative history of the period of Nazi occupation of the Czech lands. In addition to a historical introduction, which deals with the development of the Oberlandratsamts in the system of the occupation administration of the Protectorate and with the characteristics of the people at the head of these offices, the core of the work is an encyclopaedia with biographies of 53 Oberlandrats, which contain their basic biographical data, information on education, profession, their political and social commitment, their military service where applicable, imprisonment and detention as well as their post-war fate. An important part of the publication is the edition of 25 documents that document the organizational and personnel development of the Oberlandratsamts in the Protectorate and embed these institutions of the occupation administration in a broader historical context.
