This conference speech presents an interdisciplinary study investigating cross-cultural variations in the perceived legitimacy of COVID-19 anti-pandemic measures in Central Europe (West Germany, East Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia). The findings indicate that German respondents, particularly those from the West, report higher legitimacy for governmental regulations compared to counterparts in East Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The normative and psycho-socio-cultural factors influencing the perceived legitimacy are discussed.
