Para Jan Patočka es característica la relación mutua entre sus esfuerzos filosófico-sistemáticos y el estudio de la historia de la filosofía. Su filosofía sistemática surge de la historia de la filosofía y al mismo tiempo se manifiesta en su interpretación original de los temas histórico-filosóficos. Esto también se aplica a su acercamiento a Comenius. El capítulo se centra en la interpretación de Patočka de la obra El laberinto del mundo y el paraíso del corazón, que formó parte de un ciclo de conferencias de introducción a la filosofía fenomenológica y se impartió en la Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad Charles en el año escolar 1969/1970. El análisis de Patočka de la experiencia del laberinto muestra aquí un paralelo con sus análisis de la existencia auténtica y no auténtica (El peregrino en el laberinto - la historia del público anónimo: la falsa situación del hombre, la decadencia de la existencia humana, la charla, el yo controlado externamente, la curiosidad vacía, la distracción hacia los momentos inmediatos, el encierro en sí mismo: la voz que llama al Peregrino a regresar a su corazón - un paralelo del fenómeno heideggeriano de la conciencia: la destrucción de lo público anónimo, el desbloqueo del propio modo de existencia, el giro hacia la concentración y la apertura). El pensamiento de Patočka sobre la existencia auténtica y no auténtica se adhiere estrechamente a su concepto del alma abierta y cerrada y a la doctrina de los tres movimientos de la existencia humana. Esto también se aborda en este capítulo.

For Jan Patočka the mutual relationship between his philosophical-systematic endeavors and the study of the history of philosophy is characteristic. His systematic philosophy arises from the history of philosophy and at the same time manifests itself in his original interpretation of historical-philosophical themes. This also applies to his approach to Comenius. The chapter focuses on Patočka’s interpretation of the work The Labyrinth of the World and the Paradise of the Heart, which was part of an introductory lecture series on phenomenological philosophy and was given at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in the school year 1969/1970. Patočka’s analysis of the experience of the labyrinth shows here a parallel with his analyses of authentic and inauthentic existence (The Pilgrim in the Labyrinth - the story of the anonymous audience: the false situation of man, the decay of human existence, the chatter, the externally controlled self, the empty curiosity, the distraction towards the immediate moments, the enclosure in oneself: the voice calling the Pilgrim back to his heart - a parallel of the Heideggerian phenomenon of consciousness: the destruction of the anonymous public, the unblocking of one’s own mode of existence, the turn towards concentration and openness). Patočka’s thinking on authentic and inauthentic existence adheres closely to his concept of the open and closed soul and the doctrine of the three movements of human existence. This is also addressed in this chapter.
