Inspirován úvahami nad encyklopedickým dílem Handbuch zur deutschen Literatur Prags und der böhmischen Länder (2017) se článek zabývá možnými úkoly, které plní regionální literární dějiny. Kriticky poukazuje na různé motivace psani literárních dějin Němců v českých zemí a jejich proměny během 20. století. Nakonec se zabývá otázkou, kam možno zařadit nejnovější počin z roku 2017.

Inspired by reflections on the encyclopedic Handbuch zur deutschen Literatur Prags und der böhmischen Länder (2017), the article deals with the possible tasks of regional literary history. It critically points out the different motivations for writing literary histories of Germans in the Bohemian lands and their changes during the 20th century. Finally, it addresses the question of where the most recent work can be placed.
