Paper emphasizes the importance of combination of study of reproductive organs of fossil plants and their spores and pollen. Stratigraphical range of fertile specimens of fossil plants is from Carboniferous to Tertiary from some countries of Europe, China, North and South America. Plants of different affinities including lycophytes, sphenophytes, ferns, gymnosperms and angiosperms were studied. Such research shows how important is collaboration of palynologists and palaeobotanists for recognition of some aspects of phylogeny, systematic and palaeoecology.
