Das Eintreffen des sudetendeutschen Ethnikums in Deutschland spielte hinsichtlich des Wahlkampfs bei weitem keine so große Rolle wie ihre erzwungener Aussiedlung aus der Tschechoslowakei. Was jedoch gemeinsam für das tschechische und das deutsche Ethnikum zu beiden Seiten der Grenze blieb, war das durchlebte Trauma der Bedrohung der eigenen Existenz. Den Aussiedlungsprozess und seine Ergebnisse vermochten beide Staaten politisch auszunutzen. Welche Rolle spielte die Vertreibung im politischen Wahlkampf in der Tschechoslowakei im Jahr 1946? Und welche Rolle spielte die Ankunft der sudetendeutschen Minderheit bei den freien Wahlen im Nachkriegsdeutschland?
The arrival of the Sudeten Germans in Germany did not play nearly as great a role in the election campaign as their forced resettlement from Czechoslovakia. What remained common to the Czech and German ethnic groups on both sides of the border, however, was the trauma they had experienced of the threat to their own existence. Both states were able to exploit the expulsion process and its results politically. What role did the expulsion play in the political election campaign in Czechoslovakia in 1946? And what role did the arrival of the Sudeten German minority play in the free elections in post-war Germany?
