Svazek obsahuje proslulý Labyrint světa a Lusthauz srdce, alegorický příběh Poutníka odhalujícího marnost a přetvářku lidského počínání, a útěšný teologicko-filozofický traktát Centrum securitatis (známý též jako Hlubina bezpečnosti) o odpoutávání se od pomíjivých věcí a o spočinutí v Bohu. Oba spisy vychází vůbec poprvé v nejstarší známé rukopisné podobě, v případě Labyrintu jde o rukopis z konce roku 1623, v případě Centra z doby kolem roku 1625. Součástí vydání jsou nejen původní ilustrace, ale i rozsáhlá evidence změn, provedených v tištěných verzích — čtenář tak může porovnat, jak se texty v průběhu Komenského života měnily. Zejména podoba Labyrintu světa je výrazně odlišná, scházejí některé autobiografické pasáže (putování po moři, zážitek z opilosti) a závěrečné kapitoly odehrávajících se v hradu Moudrosti. Centrum securitatis tradičně doplňuje krátké pojednání Renuntiatio mundi, to jest Výhost světu, rozvádějící téma nalézání jistoty v Boží moudrosti.

The volume includes the famous Labyrinth of the World and Lusthauz of the Heart, the allegorical story of the Pilgrim exposing the futility and pretense of human action, and the comforting theological-philosophical treatise Centrum securitatis (also known as the Depth of Security) about detachment from transitory things and resting in God. Both writings are published for the first time in the oldest known manuscript form, in the case of the Labyrinth it is a manuscript from the end of 1623, in the case of the Centrum securitatis from around 1625. The edition includes not only the original illustrations, but also an extensive record of the changes made in the printed versions — reader so he can compare how the texts changed in the course of Comenius’ life. In particular, the form of the Labyrinth of the World is significantly different, some autobiographical passages (travelling on the sea, the experience of drunkenness) and the final chapters taking place in the Castle of Wisdom are omitted. The Centrum securitatis traditionally complements the short treatise Renuntiatio mundi, i.e. Exaltation of the World, which elaborates on the theme of finding security in God’s wisdom.
