    Optimizing the extraction of pesticidal active ingredients from Leuzea Carthamoides is an essential step in the preparation of botanical pesticides. This paper investigates the extraction kinetics of total extract and biological active substances such as 20-HE, chlorogenic acid, and quercetin from Leuzea Carthamoides roots using a dynamic and static mode of pressurized liquid extraction (PLE). The PLE from Leuzea roots was studied with methanol as solvent under various conditions: temperature 80-120 degrees C, pressure 7-30 MPa, static time 5-15 min, and flow rate 0.5-2 mL/min. The extracts were analyzed using HPLC/HRMS analysis. The extract yields and yields and concentrations of 20-HE, chlorogenic acid, and quercetin were evaluated. The yields of each substance differed for PLE mode. At 120 degrees C, the dynamic PLE provided the highest yields of 20-HE (5.3 mg/gplant) and chlorogenic acid (5.1 mg/gplant), while the highest quercetin yield (5.7 mg/gplant) was obtained by static PLE. Compared to the Soxhlet extraction, the PLE provided a 63% higher extraction yield under optimum conditions. This study can be a helpful tool for optimizing the process parameters depending on the nature of the target substance and for scaling up the process to obtain extracts rich in 20-HE and phenolic compounds.
