Na Hradčanském náměstí v Praze stojí několik architektonických klenotů v podobě historických rozlehlých paláců. Během archeologických výzkumů vrstev pod jejich sklepy a hradčanskou dlažbou byly vyzdviženy statisíce keramických střepů. Publikace prezentuje jak samotné výzkumy archeologické, tak archeometrické. Vybrané keramické nálezy byly podrobeny analýzám, které jsou prezentovány ve formě tabulek, grafů a bohaté fotodokumentace. Jsou zde uvedeny různé typy střepových hmot, glazur a dekorů včetně identifikovaných defektů. Nejvíce jsou zastoupeny běžné užitné nádobí, fajánsové importy, berounské zboží a kachle. Část nálezů byla restaurována v souladu s restaurátorskou etikou pomocí postupů a materiálů, které byly navrženy a testovány v rámci projektu „Technologie ošetření a identifikace degradačních procesů keramických nálezů z hradčanských paláců – Metody restaurování a konzervování pórovité i slinuté keramiky a porcelánu“, NAKI II MK ČR.

Hradčany Square is home of several architectural jewels in the form of historical spacious palaces. Hundreds of thousands of ceramic finds have been excavated during the archaeological research of the layers under their cellars and surrounding pavements of the Hradčany district. This publication presents both the archaeological and archaeometric research itself. Selected ceramic finds were analysed and the results are presented in the form of tables, graphs, and abundant photo documentation. Various types of ceramic bodies, glazes, and decors including identified defects are introduced. Common utility tableware, kitchenware, faience imports, Beroun ware, and stove tiles were the most represented. Some of the finds were restored in accordance with restoration ethics using methods and materials that were suggested and tested within the project “Technology of treatment and identification of degradation processes of ceramic finds from the Hradčany Palaces – Methods of the restoration and conservation of porous and sintered ceramics and porcelain”, NAKI II by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
