    The forced oscillation technique (FOT) is a powerful and accurate methodto quantify the mechanical properties of the airways and tissues of the res-piratory system. Here we provide a detailed protocol for the measurement ofmouse respiratory mechanical parameters. We present a procedure for mouseendotracheal intubation using a handcrafted intubation platform and confir-mation module. The FlexiVentFXTMsystem (Scireq Inc.) is utilized for thethorough assessment of lung function with the FlexiWareTMsoftware serv-ing as a unit for the planning, experimentation, and analysis. The protocol hasbeen standardized and adapted for use by our center for lung-function pheno-typing of mouse models generated for the International Mouse PhenotypingConsortium (IMPC). The simplified steps, technical considerations, and inte-grated hardware-software demonstration make this protocol adaptable and im-plementable for researchers interested in using FOT for lung-function evaluation
