Vztah města a vody je v posledních letech žhavým tématem, zejména v souvislosti s adaptací na klimatickou změnu. Ovšem jen vzácně se v diskusích objevuje historický pohled - a přitom (post)socialistická realita zásadně ovlivnila a nadále ovlivňuje nejen utváření diskursu (a konsen- su?) o vodě ve městě a její správě, ale také stav mokrých infrastruktur jako takových. Tázání jak dále s vodou v našich městech v sobě musí obsahovat nejen otázku v jaké situaci jsme dnes, ale také jak jsme se do ní dostali. Veřejná diskuse za účasti historiků a expertů se pokusí odpovědět na otázku, zda lze funkčně propojit perspektivu humanitních a přírodních věd, a jaké možnosti taková interdisciplinární komunikace nabízí pro řešení a řízení správy mokrých infrastruktur v československých metropolích Praze a Bratislavě.

The relationship between cities and water has been a hot topic in recent years, especially in the context of adaptation to climate change. However, only rarely does a historical perspective appear in discussions - and yet (post-)socialist realities have fundamentally influenced and continue to influence not only the formation of discourse (and consensus?) on urban water and its management, but also the state of wet infrastructures as such. Asking how to proceed with water in our cities must include not only the question of what situation we are in today, but also how we got there. A public discussion with the participation of historians and experts will attempt to answer the question of whether the perspectives of the humanities and natural sciences can be functionally linked, and what possibilities such interdisciplinary communication offers for addressing and managing the management of wet infrastructures in the Czechoslovak metropolises of Prague and Bratislava.
