Autorzy poświęcają uwagę nie tylko ujęciu literatury polskiej w pracach F. Wollmana, ale również jego kontaktom z polskimi historykami literatury (np. z A. Brücknerem). Wollman szczegółowo analizował i porównywał charakter twórczości S. Żeromskiego i W. S. Reymonta, zwracał także uwagę na rozwój filozofii i literatury J. Słowackiego. W swoich syntezach historycznoliterackich przedstawił wybrane etapy polskiego piśmiennictwa wraz z twórcami, jak również zarys rozwoju polskiego słowianoznawstwa i mesjanizmu.

The authors of this text are concerned with the concept of Polish literature in the works of F. Wollman and his relations to the Polish literary historians (e.g. with A. Brückner). Wollman analysed in greater detail the nature of S. Żeromski and W. S. Reymont's works and paid attention to the literary and philosophical development of J. Słowacki. In his syntheses, he fractionally characterized certain developmental stages of Polish literature and selected authors, outlining the development of Polish Slavonic Studies and messianism.
