Weiss raises interesting points on our article . Heobserves that the Delingha tree-ringδ18O record matchesKM-A speleothemδ18O record from the Mawmluh Cave inIndia, that defines the 4.2-ka event’s global-type stratum. This event is also manifested as a multicentennialdrought in the Iranian Gol-E-Zard speleothem record.Weiss further argues that the Delingha record is alsoconsistent with the 4.2-ka anomaly recorded in low-resolution proxy records from northern China despiteinherent limitations of these proxies.
