The described method can be used for monitoring of fast concentration changes and transformation of NH3/NH4+ in ambient air. The main advantages include automated online analysis with fast data recording, elimination of sampling artifacts, especially evaporation and degradation of analytes on filters, and overall reduced costs. Because of the high sensitivity and short time resolution, the method might be applied to the study of new particle formation.
