This study was focused on removal of diclophenac, naproxen and triclosan from water by three various sorbents. Diclofenac and naproxen belong to widely used drugs, such as painkillers, antirheumatics and antiphlogistics and triclosan is a substance with disinfectant effects used in personal care products (eg soaps, toothpastes, mouthwashes). Tested sorbents (biochars) were prepared from residues of freshwater algae (microalgae), seaweed (macroalgae) and also biomass from sunflower husks. The concentration 1 ppm was chosen for all three pollutants, which corresponded to concentrations usually found in a real wastewater was chosen for tests. All types of biochars revealed a relatively high effectiveness.
