    The chapter focused on the cooking television program Vaří šéfkuchař, which was broadcast by Czechoslovak Television in the years 1963-1970 as part of the main news program Televizní noviny. Although it was actually an advertising show, the individual episodes of which lasted only a few minutes, it gained enormous popularity and featured the country's top gastronomy along with some TV celebrities. The transformations of the prepared dishes illustrate the dynamics of the development of Czechoslovak top gastronomy.
