Der in drei Redaktionen überlieferte Sentenzenkommentar des Durandus von St. Pourçain nimmt eine herausragende Stellung unter den Sentenzenkommentaren des 14. Jahrhunderts ein. Der vorliegende Band enthält die kritische Ausgabe der ersten und zweiten Redaktion der Distinktionen 26-42 des vierten Buches des Kommentars. Der Dominikanertheologe erörtert darin die Ehe, er behandelt eine Fülle von Themen, darunter die Frage der Sakramentalität der Ehe, den Ehekonsens als konstitutiven Akt der Ehe, das Problem der Polygamie sowie das breite Feld der Ehehindernisse.

The Sentences commentary of Durandus of Saint-Pourçain holds a place of pride among the Sentences commentaries of the 14th-century. The commentary has come down to us in three redactions. The present volume contains a critical edition of the first and second redaction of the distinctions 26-24 of the fourth book of the commentary. The Dominican theologian discusses in it marriage addressing, among others, such topics as the sacramentality of marriage, marital consent as the constitutive act of marriage, the problem of polygamy, and the problem of marital impediments.
