We studied the effect of Deep Brain Stimulation of subthalamic nucleus (STN-DBS) on cognitive and motor functions in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients. High-density EEG was recorded from scalp electrodes during the simple cognitive and motor task. We focused on changes in the laterality depending on the DBS-ON or DBS-OFF status. Statistically significant differences in laterality in STN-DBS OFF were found in six of nine patients, while in STN-DBS ON, only one patient showed a statistically significant difference in laterality.
