The paper brings elementary information about the almost unknown population census which was carried out in 1939 within the Czech borderland, occupied by Germany as a consequence of the Munich agreement. The census was organized by the German Statistical Office and its result can fill the gap between pre-war and post-war Czechoslovak databases. The census utilization from 1939 makes possible to describe demographic trends in the period between the Czechoslovak censuses 1930 and 1950 in the occupied borderland.
