Pozornost je věnována změnám, které nastaly v liturgickém a hudebním provozu pražské katedrály během 20. století. V první řadě je pojednána dostavba katedrály (dokončena 1929) a její vliv na akustické poměry, s tím související diskuse předcházející stavbě nových varhan (1931), a rovněž proměna repertoáru vyžádaná cecilskou reformou a ideály katedrálního stylu 1. poloviny 20. století. Přehled katedrálních kapelníků 20. století obsahuje charakteristiku úkolů a výzev, před nimiž stáli. Předmětem pozornosti je též katedrální sbor a proměny jeho sociologického zázemí, a dále liturgické reformy 20. století, včetně obnovy staroslověnského ritu a s ním spojené hudební kultury (1921 – c. 1994).

Attention is paid to the changes that occured in the liturgy and music events of the Prague Cathedral during the 20th century. The completion of the unfinished cathedral (completed in 1929) and its influence on acoustic conditions, the related discussion that preceded the construction of a new organ (1931) and the tranformation of repertoire required by the Cecilian reform and the ideals of cathedral style in the first half of the 20th century are discussed. The overview ofthe cathedral kapellmeisters of the 20th century contains the characteristics of the tasks and challenges they faced. The attention is also paid to the cathedral choir and changes in its sociological background, liturgical reforms of the 20th century, including the restoration of the Old Slavonic rite, and the associated musical culture (1921 – c. 1994).
