Der Workshop führte Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler mit einem Forschungsinteresse an Kriminalitätsgeschichte zusammen. Der Stand und Perspektiven dieses Forschungsfeldes wurden am Beispiel der Geschichte der böhmischen Länder, Polens, Deutschlands und der Habsburgermonarchie eruiert und diskutiert. Neben der Schaffung eines Rahmens zur Präsentation aktueller Projekte und/oder Ergebnisse diente der Workshop auch dazu, die Chancen solcher Forschungsperspektiven für eine Kultur- und Gesellschaftsgeschichte in dieser von vielfältigen ethnischen Nachbarschaften geprägten Region zu erörtern.

The workshop brought together scholars dealing with the history of criminality. Researchers from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Austria discussed the current state of the art in the field on the examples taken from the history of the Habsburg Empire, Poland, and Germany. The workshop created space for presentations of ongoing research projects and has contributed to further development of the field within the historiographies of East-Central Europe.
