Gorillas are among the largest herbivores inhabiting African tropical forests. It is not surprising, therefore, that the overall composition of their parasite faunas correspond to that of other non-ruminating herbivores, with a dominance of intestinal ciliates (which are, in fact, commensals), gastrointestinal strongylids and anoplocephalid tapeworms. This chapter is focussed on interesting aspects in gorilla parasitology and its discussion.
