This is a field guide to the flora of Ladakh, a mountainous area in the Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir. For each species, a description is given of their morphology, ecology, and distribution. Distribution maps and elevation charts are included. Using colour photographs, the overall habitus of the plant is presented, and macro-photographs of details are included. The book describes the geology and climate of Ladakh, the history of its botanical exploration, phytogeography and vegetation zonation. Many of the species described here occur widely in this area, making this guide useful to the mountains of western Tibet, Kashmir and Nepal.
