Quantum dot (QD) type materials are one of the most interesting optoelectronically active semiconductor material types due to their unique light-emitting, photo-catalytic, and photovoltaic effects which can be tailored by means of synthetic methodologies. To find proper applications for those QD materials, precise information about their exciton dynamics are essential. However, their exciton generation via photon capturing and subsequent dissociation via charge transfer are still sparse to understand due to intrinsic complexities of those QD type materials.
